Unakho is a small orphanage in the township of Barcelona near Cape Town, run by compassionate caregivers Reverend Julius, his wife, Irene and staffed by six people. This loving, nurturing environment is home to 32 children ranging in age from 3 to 19, many of whom face physical and emotional challenges due to HIV/AIDS.
The staff and children joyfully embrace one another as family. In addition to caring for the children the home offers food to other persons in need. AIAIA monetarily supports Unakho, enabling them to buy food and supplies. The AIAIA delegation visits this group annually.
